Welcome
Welcome to St Matthew’s Church of England Infant School, part of the local community since 1867.
We are a uniquely caring and vibrant learning community set in the beautiful green space of Downside village on the edge of Cobham.
Our underlying values and commitment to high quality teaching and learning are at the heart of everything we do, ensuring a strong, cohesive community that nurtures and develops happy, confident and successful learners.
As a small school, we know and care for each child and family, working together to achieve the very best for individuals in an environment that is both nurturing and full of exciting challenges and fun curriculum experiences. Our children enjoy and embrace learning, growing in ability, creativity and confidence throughout their time with us, and know that they are valued members of our school community.
I am very proud to be the Headteacher at St. Matthew’s, and I hope you will visit us to see our special qualities first hand. The school consistently produces impressive academic results but just as importantly, it provides pupils with a strong personal foundation for a happy and successful future.
Katharine Hutt, Headteacher.
