Life of the Tree Workshops
To celebrate the life of our wonderful Horse Chestnut Tree in the playground we have been delighted to welcome from Elmbridge Museum into school this week to lead some whole school workshops on what the tree might have seen as it stood in the playground over the years. On Wednesday the children learnt about what it was like to be a child in Victorian times, how they wrote on chalkboards and what they played with! Some of the children even got to dress up! On Thursday Elmbridge Museum returned and held a workshop on what it was like to be a child at school during WWII. The children were shocked at rationing and had to create a weeks meals based on how much they were allowed. They couldn't believe how little meat they would have been allowed!. A wonderful week of learning about what our tree might have seen during its lifetime.
