Our Performance

“Pupils make outstanding progress”, Ofsted 2013.

St. Matthew’s is a Church of England Voluntary Aided Infant School catering for children from the age of four to seven years. Inspirational teaching motivates pupils so that they are very excited about learning new things. We work closely with the Diocese of Guildford and Surrey Education Authority. We are also part of the Effingham Learning Partnership and have close contacts with other local schools.

St. Matthew’s is consistently ranked in the top of Surrey schools for Key Stage 1 results and was judged to be “Outstanding” in all areas by Ofsted in October 2013. In addition to Ofsted inspections, Church schools also undergo a denominational inspection – the Statutory Inspection of Anglican & Methodist Schools (SIAMS), which assesses the effectiveness of C of E and Methodist schools as Church schools. In June 2019 St Matthew’s was judged to be Outstanding. Please see the link to the report below.
