Captain Tom 100 Challenge!

St Matthew’s plans to take part in the Captain Tom 100 Challenge around the anniversary that would have been his 101st birthday. We would like to celebrate his life and honour his memory by taking on our own individual challenges, just as he did.

Friday 30 April 2021 would have been Captain Sir Tom’s 101st birthday and the one-year anniversary of the extraordinary celebrations that followed the conclusion of his famous walk and Tom’s simple message of hope – “Tomorrow will be a good day

We would like to invite you to help us celebrate his life and honour his memory by taking on your own Captain Tom 100 – a challenge based around the number 100, at anytime and anywhere over Captain Tom’s birthday weekend, starting on Friday 30 April through to Bank Holiday Monday 3 May.

Everyone – of all ages and abilities – is invited to join in the fun, so please share the message far and wide. You could choose to walk 100 steps, bake 100 cakes, climb 100 stairs, score a goal 100 times, write a 100-word poem – anything at all, inside or outside. It’s your chance to do it your way! A few ideas are included with this message.
